Schoolchildren’s notebooks and slates will be on show at the Chapelle Sainte Monique for the duration of the exhibition. It’s not all about reading, although we’re talking about lines here, but about feeling and exploring the unsuspected magic that lies in the nature of these lines: experimental, exploratory, liberating, but not just that! In addition to its subtlety, it reveals the artist’s universe and conveys his or her ideas and feelings.

The surrealism of these works, far from detaching us from reality, evokes characters, places and feelings that the artist draws from the depths of her memory and experience; those delicious daydreams that lift us out of the daily frenzy of modern life, not without pain, those precious memories that the years erode little by little, or those places tortured by nostalgia that Safa captures in her drawings, collages and embroideries, immortalising the experience.

Lignes révélatrices’ is an exhibition that traces the contours of a hybrid universe where drawings, collages and embroideries form the pillars of a world woven of lines and threads. It’s an immersion in the various media that takes us from amusement to intrigue, challenging our intuitions and assumptions. A universe that blossoms in the artist’s soul and abounds in that of the observer, completing a cycle of creation and interpretation.
