Hichem Driss

Born in Tunis in 1968. Lives and works in Paris and Tunis.
Hichem Driss studied photography in Paris. He has run photography workshops with children and collaborated with a large number of renowned photographers in the fields of fashion, design and architecture. In 2002 he set up the Studio Barguellil, where he produces advertising commissions and personal projects…
His photographs have been shown in numerous group exhibitions in Tunis and abroad. He took part in the Bamako Biennial in 1998 and 2011, the Havana Biennial in 1999, Nazar at the Noorderlicht festival, and the Dégagement exhibition at the IMA in 2012. He collaborated with JR on the Inside Out project, a series of portraits of Tunisians presented in the form of giant posters in urban spaces, a project carried out in Tunisia just after the 2011 revolution. He took part in the “exist” exhibition in Liverpool, UK (2013), the Hammams of the Medina exhibition in Tunis (2015) and the Effervescence exhibition at the Institute of Islamic Cultures in Paris (2016).
